« Issu de vignes d’une trentaine d’années, les tanins sont bien présents en bouche et donnent une belle complexité aromatique. L’aspect fruité a été mis en avant et une légère note boisée permet d’apporter une belle densité. »

Vintage 2014 92 James Suckling, 92 Wine Enthusiast

Soil: Clay-sand-gravel
Grape varieties: 80% Merlot - 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
Average age of vines: 25 to 30 years-old
Growing methods: Ploughing, sowing of green fertilizers, mechanical weedcontrol
Harvest: Manual with sorting
Vinification : Maceration for 25 days in temperature-controlled stainless-steelvats
Ageing: 50% in new French oak barrels, 50% in vats. A minimal quantity of sulphites is used at this stage
Sulphites content: < 40 mg/L
Bottled at the château: With nitrogen flushing (to protect the colour and fruit from oxidation) – DIAM 5 ® – 47×24 Technical corks (composite corks that have consistent density and permeability)
Ageing potential: Ready to drink after two years ageing in the bottle, can be kept 10 years

“This wine has a deep crimson-purple color and complex aromas of red fruit such as crushed blackcurrants, with spicy notes of black pepper. A subtle oakiness on the finish gives it perfect balance, indicating a capacity to improve with age.”
